Portfolio Analyst

PERSOL Recruitment is partnering with an established Western Australian organisation to recruit an experienced Portfolio Analyst.

This opportunity will suit an analytical professional who brings a combination of strong data and business intelligence skills, project management knowledge and experience supporting project performance and governance.

Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, you'll play an important role in delivering accurate reporting, improving data visibility and providing insights that support effective business decisions.

The Role

Working closely with Project Managers, Project Directors and senior stakeholders, your responsibilities will include:

• Develop, maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards and performance reporting across project portfolios.
• Analyse project performance, financial information, budgets and KPIs to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
• Maintain accurate project data across project management, financial and ERP systems.
• Support portfolio governance, project management methodologies and reporting frameworks.
• Monitor portfolio schedules, milestones and project performance.
• Assist with project budget validation, financial tracking and reporting.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and improve reporting processes.
• Support Project Managers and project teams with project controls, reporting requirements and governance processes.

About You

To be successful, you will ideally bring:

• Approximately 5 years' experience in portfolio analysis, PMO analysis, project analysis or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on Power BI experience, including dashboard development, data analysis and reporting.
• Sound working knowledge of project management methodologies, governance, project controls and reporting requirements.
• Experience with project financial reporting, budget monitoring and performance analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office applications.
• The ability to analyse complex datasets and translate findings into clear, meaningful recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with confidence working across different levels of an organisation.
• A tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Business, Commerce or a related discipline.

Highly regarded:

• Experience with Planview or similar portfolio management systems.
• Exposure to ERP systems and financial modelling.
• Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or Agile.
• Previous experience within infrastructure, utilities or project-driven organisations.
