Techforce is partnering with a well-established electrical engineering and manufacturing business delivering specialist power distribution and engineered electrical solutions across the mining, resources and heavy industrial sectors.

We are recruiting an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and design function. This is a hands-on technical leadership role suited to someone who has built their career within the HV/LV power distribution or electrical manufacturing market and understands how engineering translates through design, procurement, workshop manufacture, FAT and site delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of electrical engineers, graduate engineers and designers.
• Manage engineering workloads, priorities and project deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
• Review, approve and sign off electrical engineering designs and technical documentation in accordance with Australian requirements.
• Provide technical leadership across HV/LV systems, switchrooms, MCCs, switchgear, distribution boards and associated power systems.
• Oversee engineering activities from concept and detailed design through manufacture, FAT, commissioning and project handover.
• Work closely with project management, procurement, workshop and production teams to resolve technical and delivery issues.
• Ensure engineering outputs comply with relevant Australian Standards, client specifications and internal quality requirements.
• Drive engineering best practice, design consistency, continuous improvement and technical development across the team.
• Maintain a visible presence across the engineering office, workshop and project delivery environment.
• Promote strong safety, quality and accountability standards throughout the engineering function.

The Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Current Australian experience within the electrical power distribution and packaged electrical systems market.
• Demonstrated ability to review, approve and sign off electrical designs in Australia.
• Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring electrical engineers and designers.
• Experience supporting projects through engineering, manufacture, FAT and site delivery.
• Strong understanding of relevant Australian electrical standards and engineering compliance requirements.
