Peer Support Worker
- Provide one-on-one peer support using lived experience of mental health recovery.
- Assist individuals to build community connections and strengthen natural supports.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to service planning.
What you'll do
- Provide one-on-one peer support using your lived experience of mental health recovery.
- Support people to identify and work towards their recovery goals.
- Foster hope, empowerment, connection and self-advocacy.
- Assist individuals to build community connections and strengthen natural supports.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, community partners and support networks.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service planning and continuous improvement.
What you'll bring
- A minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent recognised Peer Work qualification)
- Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery, with the ability to use this experience purposefully and safely in a professional setting.
- A strong commitment to recovery-oriented and person-centred practice.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of boundaries, confidentiality and professional practice.
- A genuine passion for supporting people to achieve the outcomes that matter to them.
