Due to an immediate business need, they are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a temporary basis with an immediate start. This is a great opportunity for a payroll professional with strong SCHADS Award and Micropay experience to step into a busy role and provide valuable support to an established team.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 150+ employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Process payroll changes including new starters, terminations, leave, adjustments and other employee movements
- Interpret and apply the SCHADS Award and relevant employment conditions
- Maintain accurate employee records and payroll master data
- Manage payroll queries and provide timely support to employees and stakeholders
- Reconcile payroll reports, investigate discrepancies and resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with taxation, superannuation, award and payroll legislation
- Assist with payroll reporting, audits and year-end processes
- Support the wider payroll team with day-to-day payroll requirements
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies
Ideal candidate
- Significant experience managing end-to-end payroll
- Strong knowledge and practical experience applying the SCHADS Award
- Micropay payroll experience is essential
- Experience processing payrolls for 150+ employees
- Experience within disability, community services or a similar environment is highly desirable
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to hit the ground running and work effectively in a busy environment
- Proactive and hands-on approach with a strong focus on getting things right
