ALL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Optical Superstore provides a comprehensive range of eyewear products and services. Our optometrists provide comprehensive eye examinations in-store, with a range of assessments to evaluate vision and overall eye health, ensuring personalised care tailored to each patient’s needs.

Our highly trained team provides professional advice and assistance with selecting the most suitable lenses, taking into consideration prescription requirements, lens weight, thickness, appearance and optical clarity.

We work with several leading international lens suppliers, giving our customers access to a wide range of high-quality lens options. We also offer a comprehensive selection of contact lenses to suit different vision requirements and lifestyles.

We are currently looking for candidates for the following positions for our ALICE SPRINGS practice

Optical dispenser

Salary: $68,000 - $90,000 per annum

Full time

Responsibilities/Daily Tasks:

1. Dispensing.
2. “Checking” incoming jobs.
3. Interprets optical prescriptions.
4. Assist customers in selecting suitable frames and lenses based on their prescription, visual requirements, and preferences.
5. Advice customers on lens options, including lens materials, coatings, thickness, weight, appearance, and optical clarity.
6. Fit customers with suitable custom eyewear and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal fit, comfort, and alignment.
7. Be competent in all Administration duties.
8. Open & Close the Store if required.
9. Undertake additional training if required.
10. Adhere to the company Procedures & Policy.
11. Keep the optical dispensing area clean, organised, and professionally presented.
12. Ensure Dress Code are adhered to.
13. Liaise with Health Funds.

Qualifications & Personal Attributes:

1. Completed an Optical Dispensing course, such as Cert IV in Optical Dispensing, or willing to undertake the required training and qualification
2. Proven experience in the Optical Industry.
3. Excellent demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
4. Reasonable computer skills.
5. An ability to work as a team player and prioritise tasks.
6. An ability to foster confidence and gain credibility with the staff you are to oversee.
7. Must have the strength of character to take constructive criticism in the constructive manner it was intended and work through any issues to the benefit of yourself, co-workers and company.
8. Have the strength of character and ability to make unpopular decisions when the need arises.

Retail supervisor

Full time

Salary: $67,600 - $85,000 per annum

Responsibilities/Daily Tasks:

1. Dispensing if required.
2. Open & Close the Store.
3. “Checking” incoming jobs.
4. Monitoring product mix.
5. Ensuring that all staff members embrace and understand all offers available to customers and priced correctly.
6. Look at ways the store can be more efficient, whether to be store layout, rostering of staff, or a promotion, with the aim being to grow the business.
7. Be competent in all Administration duties.
8. Handle customer complaints and conflict resolution, assess issues, and determine appropriate actions to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
9. Conduct a Basic training course with new staff and ensuring the new staff undertakes the training.
10. Help resolve Staff Disputes.
11. Laise with staff regarding proper Procedure & Policy.
12. Evaluate staff on their performance.
13. Organise Staff Cover for Annual Leave or Sick Leave.
14. Ensure that staff dress in a neat & professional manner and that this dress standard is upheld by all.
15. Monitor Store appearance and ensure vacuuming & frame cleaning etc is carried out twice weekly at least.

Qualifications & Personal Attributes:

1. Excellent demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
2. Reasonable Computer skills.
3. An ability to work as a Team Player & Prioritise Tasks.
4. Have a reasonable level of Maths & Science knowledge.
