The Company

Our client is preparing to take an iconic heritage venue in Cleveland to its next chapter, combining premium dining, a beautiful waterfront setting and a unique atmosphere for weddings, functions and special occasions. With distinctive heritage architecture, manicured gardens and versatile event spaces, the venue offers an exceptional opportunity to become a leading destination on Brisbane’s Bayside.

The Role

As Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operations across the restaurant, bar, front of house, weddings and functions. Working directly with the Owner/Director and alongside the Head Chef, you will play a key role in shaping the venue’s identity, growing revenue and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This is a hands-on, commercially focused role with plenty of scope to develop new business, build relationships with corporate and private clients, and establish a strong calendar of events and promotions.
From securing weddings and corporate functions to introducing themed dining nights, seasonal celebrations and creative marketing initiatives, you will have the autonomy to bring fresh ideas to the table and help position the venue as a destination for dining and events. You will also oversee staffing, rostering, service standards, budgets and operational performance, balancing outstanding hospitality with commercial results.

Your Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years’ experience in hospitality management, ideally within premium restaurants, bars or event venues.
  • Proven experience managing restaurant operations, weddings, functions and special events.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including sales, marketing, budgeting, labour costs and profitability.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business and build relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners and local businesses.
  • Experience managing bookings, event coordination, staffing, recruitment, training and rosters.
  • Creative approach to promotions, event packages, seasonal campaigns and revenue generation.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to consistent service standards and guest satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership, initiative and accountability, with a hands-on approach to daily operations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the Head Chef and ownership team.
  • Flexibility to work across a Wednesday–Sunday trading pattern, including evenings, weekends and key event dates.
