Operational Maintainer - Shunter
- Join the Kwinana rail operations team as an Operational Maintainer - Shunter.
- Control the movement of trains and maintain safety protocols.
- Progress towards becoming a qualified Locomotive Driver.
About the role:
We are looking for safety-conscious individuals with the relevant shunt qualifications to join our Perth based Kwinana rail operations team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to progress towards becoming a qualified Locomotive Driver, as our Trainee Driver positions are filled by top performers from our Operational Maintainer ranks. - Control the movement of trains and carry out relevant instructions always maintaining safety
- Home station in Kwinana rail operations depot, but can also be rostered to work at the Forrestfield operations as required
- Inspect for faults, repair, service and maintain rollingstock
- Support maintenance of locomotives, ancillary vehicles, machines, and equipment
- Conduct brake testing of trains
- Effectively communicate with other depot personnel as well as clients and operational staff including train control face to face and via two-way radio
- Undertake shunting and marshalling of trains
- Other duties as requested
About you:
- C Class Drivers Licence (mandatory)
- Shunt qualification
- Strong commitment to safety
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- A willingness to work day & night shift (up to 12hr shifts) and including weekend work as required
