Marine Carpenter
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on marine infrastructure.
- Travel to remote and rural areas of WA for work as required.
- Complete inspection records and maintain safety standards.
The Role
Ventia are looking to engage a Marine Carpenter to join our Department of Transport contract. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role will see preform a rage of tasks associated with preventive maintenance and repairs on Department of Transport infrastructure such as Jetty’s, wharfs, boat ramps and maritime buildings along the coast. You will also be applying your trade skills to install, replace and repair the integrity of facilities. This is a great opportunity if you like working out in the fresh air and enjoy the afternoon sea breeze.
Whilst primarily working within the metro area, this role also has a requirement to travel to remote and rural areas of WA (all coastal) to preform work as required. We are looking for someone who is hard working, safety focused and ready for their next challenge.
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 07:00am-03:30pm with 1x RDO per month.
The payrate for this position is $48.21 per hour plus overtime opportunities.

Key duties, but not limited to:
- Responsible for completing maintenance and repair work on Marine structures
- Carry out general maintenance repairs and labouring as required
- Minor building asset repairs (locks, doors etc)
- Ensure Inspection records are completed and maintained for required tasks
Requirements:
- Someone physically fit, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
- Carpentry Trade Certificate
- WA Drivers Licence – LR
- Forklift Ticket
- Construction Induction / White Card
- Chain Saw Ticket (desirable but not essential)
- Confident working on and around water (rivers, oceans, beaches etc)
- Experience in a similar role is highly regarded
