The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Life Insurance Administration Manager to take ownership of a key operational function within the business.

Leading a small team across Australia and offshore, you will oversee the day-to-day life insurance administration function, ensuring workflows are managed effectively, service standards are met and the team is supported to perform at its best.

This is a genuinely hands-on leadership opportunity, ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring others while remaining actively involved in complex cases, escalations and operational activities.

With the business continuing to grow, you will also play an important role in identifying efficiencies, streamlining processes and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of onshore and offshore life insurance administrators.
  • Oversee daily workflows, prioritise tasks and allocate workloads to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Monitor team performance against SLAs, productivity targets and quality standards.
  • Manage outstanding requirements, suspense items, backlogs and complex or escalated cases.
  • Remain hands-on with life insurance administration, supporting the team wherever required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure effective communication and handovers between onshore and offshore teams.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to drive team performance and continuous improvement.
  • Support the adoption of new systems, technology and automation initiatives.

About You
We are looking for a proactive, resilient and engaging leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys making a difference.

You will bring strong administration experience within life insurance or a closely related financial services environment, alongside demonstrated experience leading, coaching or supervising others.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in life insurance administration, new business case management, financial planning, paraplanning, adviser support or practice management.
  • Previous team leadership or people management experience.
  • Strong understanding of administration workflows, outstanding requirements and case management processes.
  • A hands-on approach, with the confidence to manage complex cases and escalations.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and high volumes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for improving processes and driving efficiencies.
  • Confidence with technology and an interest in automation and innovative ways of working.

Above all, you will be someone who brings energy, accountability and initiative to the team. You will be comfortable sharing ideas, embracing change and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.

The Benefits

  • Join a rapidly growing business with exciting opportunities for career progression.
  • Genuine ownership of a team and the opportunity to influence operational improvements.
  • Work closely with an approachable and collaborative leadership team.
  • Vibrant Surry Hills office with a welcoming, energetic culture.
  • Team wellness initiatives, including group fitness activities.
