Lead Data Engineer | SQL & Data Warehousing
Lead data engineering delivery across a complex government data warehouse platform, providing technical leadership, reviewing data designs and developing SQL and ETL solutions across enterprise data environments.
Location: QLD, SA, ACT, VIC, NSW
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Contract Duration: 12 months with one 12-month extension option
Security Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance
Essential Tasks
- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, workshops and implementation guidance.
- Own the technical implementation of new data from analysis through to delivery.
- Develop and maintain SQL analytical and ETL code, data models and documentation.
- Improve data delivery frameworks, coding standards, release processes and development practices.
Key Criteria
- Strong competency developing, auditing and reviewing code across at least two of MS SQL, Teradata, Snowflake, Redshift and Databricks.
- High-level programming capability using languages such as Python, SAS, R or Java.
- Advanced SQL expertise, including reverse-engineering end-user SQL and interpreting data models and specifications.
- Sound knowledge of DevOps processes, DevOps tools and version control practices.
