About the Role

You’ll be working closely with the Farm Weekly editorial team to gather, write, and self-edit high-quality agricultural news stories for publication in both print and online. This is a hands-on role that offers both independence and collaboration, where you will use digital storytelling tools and spend time on the road meeting WA's best farmers to produce work that directly supports our rural communities.

What You’ll Bring

  • Journalistic Skill: Proven ability in gathering, writing, and self-editing engaging news stories for print and digital platforms while maintaining strict editorial integrity.
  • Digital Storytelling: Confidence using social media and digital tools to build online audience engagement and give the community a voice.
  • Communication & Networking: Strong communication skills with a natural ability to network, build relationships, and represent the masthead at community events.
  • Operational Excellence: High attention to detail, self-motivation, and strong time management skills to successfully meet strict publishing deadlines.
  • Mobility: A valid driver's licence and an enthusiasm for regional travel across Western Australia.
