IT Service Desk Officer (multiple roles)

Initial contract: until June 2027 
Onsite role | Sydney CBD location
$66 per hour including super

We are seeking an experienced IT Service Desk Officer to join a busy technology environment and provide high-quality technical support to end users.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with users and delivering excellent customer service. You will be responsible for resolving service requests and incidents, supporting end-user technology and ensuring users have the tools and assistance they need to remain productive.

About the Role

As an IT Service Desk Officer, you will:

  • Provide first-level IT support for user enquiries, incidents and service requests, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Deliver support through the IT ticketing system, face-to-face walk-ups and the IT Service Desk phone line.
  • Set up, configure, support and relocate end-user technology, including:
    • Desktops and laptops
    • Monitors and peripherals
    • Printers
    • Tablets and smartphones
    • Desk phones
    • Audio-visual equipment
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues, escalating where required.
  • Perform approved software installations and deployments.
  • Support user onboarding and offboarding in accordance with established processes.
  • Create and maintain user guides and contribute to the IT knowledge base.
  • Provide users with technical guidance, assistance and basic training where required.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with users throughout the resolution process.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience working in an IT Service Desk or Desktop Support environment.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and common desktop applications, including Adobe Reader and similar applications.
  • Experience supporting end-user hardware, peripherals and mobile devices.
  • Good time management and the ability to prioritise competing requests.
  • The ability to remain calm and effective when working under pressure.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach and a willingness to work as part of a team.

Working Environment

This is a fully onsite position and is not suitable for working from home. You will be required to work onsite to provide hands-on technical support to users and business operations.
