Are you looking for a unique in-house legal opportunity where you can make a real impact? Swatch Group Australia is seeking a talented In-House Legal Counsel to provide trusted legal advice across our portfolio of world-renowned Swiss watch brands.

As the sole Legal Counsel for Australia, you will play a pivotal role supporting us on a wide range of commercial, corporate, compliance and regulatory matters. Working closely with our senior leaders, you will be a key strategic partner, helping drive business success while protecting and enhancing our brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support to stakeholders across key business functions, including Retail, Wholesale, E-Commerce, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Customer Care, Logistics and Procurement
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including marketing, property, leasing and distribution
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, frameworks and legal processes
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Monitor regulatory changes and support risk mitigation strategies
  • Manage disputes, regulatory enquiries and legal proceedings
  • Deliver legal training and practical guidance to employees across the organisation
  • Manage external law firms as required

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) with admission to practice in Australia, preferably in Victoria
  • 5+ years’ experience with a commercial focus, previous in-house experience is desirable
  • Experience with reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Experience with retail or FMCG is highly regarded, including regulations affecting retail, wholesale and e-commerce operations, and dealing with regulators and escalations
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of Australian commercial and corporate law
