The IT Business Analyst will contribute to improving the company's business systems and operational efficiency through the analysis of business requirements and the development of practical technology-based solutions.

About the Role

M&G Seafood Wholesalers is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced IT Business Analyst to analyse business processes, identify system improvement opportunities and support the implementation of information technology solutions aligned with the company's operational and commercial objectives.

The successful candidate will work closely with management, operational teams and relevant technology providers to gather business requirements, evaluate existing systems, document functional specifications and facilitate the implementation of improved business processes and IT solutions.

The role will focus on supporting the effective use of business information systems across seafood processing, inventory management, purchasing, sales, order fulfilment, warehousing and distribution, where applicable to the company's existing operations.

The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, sound technical knowledge and the ability to translate business needs into clear and practical system requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse existing business processes, workflows and information systems to identify inefficiencies, operational risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Consult with management and relevant staff to gather, clarify and document business and system requirements.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, process maps, workflow diagrams and other technical documentation.
• Assess the suitability and effectiveness of existing software applications and business information systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory tracking, stock control, order processing, purchasing, sales reporting and distribution workflows through appropriate technology solutions.
• Liaise with software vendors, IT service providers and internal stakeholders to evaluate and coordinate system enhancements and implementation activities.
• Assist with the planning, testing and implementation of new systems, software upgrades and business process improvements.
• Develop and execute user acceptance testing plans to ensure systems meet documented business requirements.
• Investigate system-related issues, analyse root causes and coordinate appropriate corrective actions with relevant technical personnel.
• Analyse business data and prepare reports to support operational planning, performance monitoring and management decision-making.
• Develop system documentation, standard operating procedures and user guides, and provide training to staff on relevant system functionality.
• Monitor implemented solutions and recommend ongoing improvements to system performance, data accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Ensure that proposed system changes align with business requirements, data integrity standards and relevant company policies.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Information Systems or a closely related discipline; or
• Equivalent relevant qualifications and demonstrated professional experience in ICT business analysis.

Relevant certifications in business analysis, systems analysis, project management or enterprise software platforms will be considered advantageous.

Required Experience

• Demonstrated experience working in an ICT Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst or similar analytical IT role.
• Experience gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional or technical specifications.
• Experience analysing business workflows and recommending improvements to operational systems and processes.
• Experience participating in software implementation, system integration, system upgrades or business process improvement projects.
• Experience conducting system testing, user acceptance testing and implementation reviews.
• Experience preparing technical documentation, process maps, business reports and user training materials.
• Experience working with business management systems, databases, reporting tools or enterprise software platforms.
• Experience in wholesale, distribution, food processing, inventory management, supply chain or logistics environments will be highly regarded.
