Heavy Diesel/Plant Mechanic
- Perform maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in machinery.

About the role
On Track Plant And Equipment is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel / Plant Mechanic to join our team in the Bega Valley on the south coast of NSW.
This is a full-time position, responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of equipment, Trucks and machinery.
What you'll be doing
- Perform scheduled servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of plant equipment including excavators, loaders, and compactors light and heavy vehicles.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems and brake systems.
- Carry out inspections, testing, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance and safety of machinery and vehicles.
- Maintain detailed records of all work completed and parts used
- Provide advice and guidance to equipment operators on proper usage and care
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required
What we're looking for
- Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent
- Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) as a Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems found in Plant & Equipment and vehicles.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently and safely in a workshop environment
- Good communication skills to liaise with equipment operators and management
- Current driver's licence and forklift licence and Heavy Vehicle preferred
- Must have valid Australian work rights to be eligible for this position
