Health & Safety Business Partner - 4 month contact

A national leader in manufacturing and production is looking to bring an experienced Health & Safety Advisor onto their operations team. This is an initial 4-month engagement with genuine scope to extend for the right person.
You'll be based on-site, embedded within a fast-paced industrial operation, working directly alongside the people who run it day to day. It's a role for someone who's happiest out on the floor rather than behind a desk — someone who can earn trust quickly, spot risk before it becomes a problem, and help shift safety from a compliance checkbox to something the whole team actually owns.
Please note, travel across NSW will be required from time to time.
What you'll be doing
- Acting as the go-to safety resource for site leaders, supervisors, and frontline crews
- Getting out on the floor for inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Leading investigations into incidents and near misses, and following through on corrective actions
- Helping embed and strengthen the site's Safety Management System
- Running inductions, toolbox talks, and on-the-job training
- Keeping the site aligned with WHS legislation and internal standards
- Managing safety documentation and reporting with accuracy and rigor
- Overseeing contractor safety compliance and permit-to-work processes
What you'll bring
- A WHS Diploma or Degree, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Runs on the board as a Health & Safety Advisor in manufacturing, industrial, or heavy operations environments
- Strong grasp of WHS legislation and how safety management systems work in practice
- Real experience leading incident investigations and risk assessments, not just reviewing them
- The communication skills to influence everyone from machine operators to senior leaders
- Comfortable owning your patch independently, while staying connected to the wider HSE team
- A current driver's licence
