Health and Safety Business Partner (Work Health & Safety)

You will become part of a collaborative Health & Safety team that plays a critical role in supporting operational excellence and organisational performance for over 500 employees across Australia.
Your new role

• As the Health & Safety Business Partner, you will work closely with operational leaders, project teams, and head office employees to provide practical and commercially focused health and safety support across a diverse range of blue and white collar workforces
• Partnering with and advising employees and leaders to drive effective risk management practices, and support project safety planning
• Working in partnership with the business, operations and people & culture, to drive a high performance safety culture
• Performing site visits, on-site and phone based coaching on all safety issues
• Incident management, including investigations, corrective actions and reporting
• Providing training and education for all levels of the business in safety processes and procedures
• Contribute to the preparation and delivery of an integrated ISO certification and surveillance audit programme (ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001), including documentation readiness, corrective action tracking and evidence compilation.
• Maintain and update governance documentation, including policies, processes registers and documentation, as well as the ongoing improvement of health and safety systems, processes and reporting.
• You will also support contractor management and ensure health and safety requirements are incorporated into projects from planning through to delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or above is required
• Previous experience in a Health & Safety Business Partner, WHS or Safety Advisor or equivalent role
• Well developed business partner skills and influential communication style
• Strong knowledge of Australian health and safety legislation and risk management principles
• Experience working in a Construction, Infrastructure, Technical or Engineering industry with field based, and project based employees in a blue collar capacity
• Demonstrated ability to conduct workplace incident investigations
• Experience supporting ISO 45001 or related management system requirements,
• Strong background in compliance and auditing
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the business
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
