Head of Technology Strategy & Integration

Executive Contract | 12-month fixed term with possible extension | Melbourne | Financial Services

This is a rare opportunity to help shape the technology foundations of a combined financial services organisation from the outset.

We are partnering with an established Australian financial services organisation entering an important period of strategic change and potential business integration.

We are seeking an accomplished Head of Technology Strategy & Integration to lead the technology workstream - assessing two technology environments, defining the optimal future state and creating the roadmap and governance capability required to successfully bring them together.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a high-impact executive engagement with exposure to the Board, senior leadership and regulatory stakeholders.

Your mandate will span five key areas:

Discover → Decide → Design → Embed → Enable

You will:

• Lead technology due diligence across platforms, infrastructure, CRM, data, cyber, vendors and digital capability.
• Recommend the future-state technology environment and operating model.
• Develop the technology transition and integration blueprint, including priorities, dependencies, investment and risk.
• Determine which platforms and services should be retained, consolidated, replaced or retired.
• Establish and embed effective Line 1 technology governance and management capability.
• Strengthen operational resilience, cyber and third-party risk practices aligned with APRA CPS 230 and CPS 234.
• Establish appropriate data and vendor governance frameworks.
• Provide strategic technology advice to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board.
• Support regulatory engagement and coordinate specialist architecture, cyber, data and implementation resources where required.

About You

You will be a senior technology leader with experience operating across technology strategy, transformation, integration and governance, ideally within financial services or another highly regulated environment.
You will bring:

• Senior technology leadership experience, potentially as a CIO, CTO, Head of Technology or Transformation/Integration Director.
• Experience with M&A integration, technology transformation or major platform consolidation.
• Strong understanding of technology operating models, governance and operational resilience.
• Knowledge of APRA CPS 230 and CPS 234 will be highly regarded.
• Strong vendor, outsourcing and third-party management experience.
• The ability to translate complex technology issues into clear commercial recommendations.
• Confidence engaging with CEOs, Boards, executives, regulators and external advisers.

This is not a hands-on architecture or operational IT role. It requires a strategic technology leader who can assess, challenge, recommend and execute, while bringing in specialist expertise where required.
