Drive Strategy, Partnerships and Growth Across a Leading Research Organisation

Are you ready to help shape the future of South Australia's premier applied research institute? We're seeking an accomplished leader who can unite strategy, commercial insight, partnerships and operational excellence to enable impactful, leading-edge research outcomes.

The South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) is seeking an outstanding leader to join its Executive team as General Manager, Operations and Research Support.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, SARDI, you will be responsible for the infrastructure, research support services, commercial operations and strategic partnerships that underpin SARDI's success. Leading a diverse portfolio that includes research farms, specialist facilities, business development, commercialisation and operational services, you will ensure SARDI remains at the forefront of research excellence while building capability for future growth.

You will work at the intersection of government, industry, science and innovation, building strategic partnerships, driving commercial opportunities and ensuring SARDI has the people, assets and systems required to deliver high-impact research outcomes that benefit South Australia and beyond.

For a high-performing senior manager or future executive, this is more than a role. It's an opportunity to create meaningful impact, build a lasting legacy, and help shape the future direction of one of Australia's most respected research organisations.

  • Join a passionate SA Government Department, committed to innovation, collaboration and impact.

Working at SARDI, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through research, innovation and industry outcomes that benefit South Australia. You'll be part of a collaborative and inclusive workplace, with access to professional development, leadership opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and competitive employment conditions, including generous leave and superannuation benefits. Most importantly, you'll work alongside some of the State Government's most talented researchers and scientists, contributing to world-class applied research that drives real-world impact.
