KEY POINTS WE FOUND
  • Join a high-performing Fund Operations team within a global asset manager.
  • Engage in fund accounting, trade management, and client reporting.
  • Contribute to process enhancement and operational improvements.

Ideal for a CA first mover looking to make the leap from Big 4 or mid tier accounting into asset management, while still putting those skills to work.

About the opportunity

Platinum Pacific Partners is partnering with a well-established global asset manager to recruit within their Sydney Fund Operations team. The firm is highly regarded in the market, with a strong investment track record and a genuinely excellent team culture to match.

This is a great opportunity to join a small, high performing team (growing from six to seven) that sits within a much larger global operations group spanning several international offices. It offers broad technical and analytical exposure to fund operations, trade management, client reporting, and operational improvement projects, working closely with portfolio management, distribution, and service providers.

The firm is investing heavily in AI and automation tools to enhance its operational capabilities, so you’ll be encouraged to bring fresh thinking to how the work gets done, not just execute existing processes. The culture here is genuinely excellent: the team is personable, inclusive, and high performing, with hybrid working (three days in office), strong work life balance, and low turnover that speaks for itself.

What you’ll be doing

  • Fund accounting, valuations, and analysis, the operational backbone of how the funds actually run
  • Trade activity monitoring, untangling settlement issues as they arise
  • Client servicing and investor reporting, being the point of contact clients rely on for clear, accurate information
  • Process enhancement, systems development, and internal controls, real opportunities to shape how the team operates, not just follow existing playbooks

What we’re looking for

  • CA or CPA qualified, or close to completion, typically via a Big 4 or equivalent professional services background
  • 2 to 5 years of professional experience (not limited to financial services) with a strong track record
  • Genuine interest in investment management, fund accounting, and financial markets
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with technology and automation
  • A questioning mind, high attention to detail, and the initiative to take on a broad and varied workload
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated academic excellence, transcripts will be required as part of the process
  • Full Australian working rights, without restriction, are essential

If you’re a chartered accountant ready to move beyond compliance and audit work and into a career built around markets, this is a genuinely well-regarded team to do it with.
