About the Opportunity:
Signature Staff is expanding its front-of-house hospitality team to service upcoming events, venues and short-term assignments throughout Cairns and surrounding areas. You Will Work Across:
– Major events and functions
– Convention and conference venues
– Hotels and resorts
– Restaurants, cafés and bars
– Sports clubs and bistros
– Catering companies
– Private and corporate functions
 
Key Responsibilities:
Depending on the assignment, your duties may include:
– Providing professional food and beverage service
– Taking orders and serving meals and drinks
– Carrying and clearing plates
– Setting up and packing down functions and events
– Preparing and serving coffee
– Operating point-of-sale systems
– Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
– Maintaining clean and presentable service areas
– Following food safety and responsible service requirements
 
Mandatory Requirements:
– Relevant front-of-house, event, café, bar or food and beverage experience
– Current Food Handler Safety Certificate
– Current Queensland RSA (mandatory for bar or alcohol-service assignments)
– Reliable and punctual
– Professionally presented
– Strong customer-service and communication skills
– Comfortable working in busy environments
– Reliable transport to the shifts you accept
– Valid Australian working rights
– Available for casual and variable shifts
 
Desirable Requirements:
– Barista experience
– Three-plate carrying ability
– Point-of-sale experience
– Previous event, function or banquet experience
– Availability for evenings and weekends
– Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
 
Working Hours and Conditions:
This is casual, assignment-based work with no guaranteed or fixed roster. Shifts may include weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays. Candidates can accept shifts that suit their availability. Once you accept a shift, you must be committed, punctual and reliable.

– Approximately $30-$35 per hour, depending on the position, your experience, shift requirements and applicable award classifications and penalties
