Front-end Developer
Contract: Until 31/12/2026 + Extensions
Location: Carseldine | Hybrid Working

We are partnering with a leading Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Front-end Developer. In this role you will build modern, AI-integrated web applications with a strong focus on data visualisation, diagramming, rich content rendering, and security-conscious development practices, within an Agile delivery team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces using React and TypeScript, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards
  • Build interactive graph, network, and diagram visualisations (e.g., using D3.js, Cytoscape.js, Mermaid, or similar libraries)
  • Implement process/flow diagram visualisation
  • Build robust markdown rendering pipelines for AI-generated or dynamic content, including code blocks, tables, and embedded media
  • Implement state management and server-state data fetching (e.g., TanStack Query, Zustand, Redux)
  • Build and maintain client-side routing and multi-page application flows
  • Integrate with authentication providers (OAuth2/OIDC, SSO)
  • Write unit and end-to-end tests (e.g., Vitest, Jest, Playwright, Cypress) with API mocking
  • Collaborate with backend engineers on API contracts and integration

What we're looking for?

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern frontend framework (React preferred; Vue/Angular experience transferable)
  • Experience with data visualisation or diagramming libraries (charts, graphs, network diagrams, or flowcharts)
  • Solid CSS skills, including utility-first frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS)
  • Strong understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and experience building accessible components.
  • Experience with component-driven architecture and reusable UI libraries
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and modern data-fetching patterns

Nice to Have

  • Experience with knowledge graphs, RAG/GenAI application interfaces, or LLM-powered UIs
  • Experience with BPMN or other business process modeling visualisation tools
  • Experience using AI coding assistants/agentic tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
  • Cloud-hosted SPA experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with supply-chain security scanning tools (e.g., Socket.dev, Snyk)
