Fleet Manager - Hamilton Island (AC8271)

A $150,000 salary plus super, a nine-day fortnight and the opportunity to live on Hamilton Island!

We’re seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to lead an established workshop supporting a diverse island operation. With apartment accommodation available, this role offers the chance to combine a substantial leadership position with a change of lifestyle.

The fleet spans light and heavy vehicles, golf buggies, mobile plant, marine assets and specialised equipment. Keeping those assets safe, reliable and available is essential to the wider operation.

You’ll lead the workshop team, coordinate maintenance and repairs, and establish clear priorities across competing operational demands. There is a clear brief to strengthen workshop performance, improve accountability and develop the people around you.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, coaching and managing workshop staff.

• Planning preventative maintenance and coordinating breakdown repairs.

• Managing fleet availability and maintenance priorities.

• Using asset management systems to support maintenance planning and coordination.

• Working with operational stakeholders to minimise disruption.

• Maintaining safety, compliance and consistent workshop standards.

• Identifying practical improvements to workshop processes and team performance.

You’ll bring proven fleet or workshop leadership experience, sound mechanical knowledge and the confidence to manage performance constructively. A background progressing from the tools into management would be particularly well suited.

Experience with vehicle fleets is important. Exposure to heavy vehicles, mobile plant or marine equipment would add value, although you do not need to be a specialist across every asset category.

This position suits someone who enjoys leading through their team, building capability and following through on decisions.

The package includes $150,000 plus super, a nine-day fortnight and access to a one-bedroom apartment at an additional rental cost. Partners can share the accommodation, and potential employment options for a partner can be discussed. Mainland commuting may also be considered.
