Skillforce Recruitment are seeking a Trade Qualified Coded Welder for ongoing work based in Henderson with some Site Based Work when required 

Key Responsibilities
 

• Process Execution: Perform high-quality structural and leak-proof welds on tanks using MIG (GMAW), Stick (SMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Flux Core (FCAW) according to specific joint designs. 
• Code Compliance: Weld strictly to approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and pass required multi-position qualification tests (such as ASME IX, AS/NZS, or ISO standards). 
• Fit-Up and Preparation: Layout, align, fit, bevel, and tack-weld metal plates, shell sections, nozzles, and internal attachments prior to final welding. 
• Tank Construction & Repair: Work on flat, vertical, and overhead joints on tank shells, roofs, bottoms, and associated pipe connections. 
• Quality Control: Inspect completed weld beads visually and prepare joints for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) like radiograph or ultrasonic checks.  

 
Requirements & Qualifications
 

• Trade Certification: Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent heavy fabrication qualification. 
• Coding Tickets: Current or readily obtainable welder qualification certificates mapped to relevant standards (e.g., ASME IX, AS/NZS 1554 or ISO 9606). 
• Safety Tickets: Confined Space Entry (CSE), Work at Heights (WAH), and a Construction White Card (often required for site or tank farm maintenance). 
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of heavy industrial or manufacturing experience, specifically working with large steel storage vessels, silos, or process tanks.
