Financial Accountant role in Geelong | $90k + Super

A well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Geelong is seeking a motivated Financial Accountant to join its finance team. Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function while contributing to accurate reporting and process improvement initiatives.Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with month-end reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger integrity
- Supporting payroll processing and related compliance obligations
- Preparing BAS, GST, PAYG, superannuation and other statutory reporting requirements
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Monitoring cash flow and supporting financial planning activities
- Supporting inventory and cost reporting where required
- Maintaining financial records within MYOB and related systems
- Assisting with process improvements and system enhancements
- Providing ad hoc reporting and analysis to support business decision-making
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- CPA/CA qualification commenced or completed, or a desire to pursue professional studies
- 24 years' accounting experience in a commercial environment
- Strong exposure to month-end processes and financial reporting
- Excellent Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Experience using MYOB or similar accounting systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Manufacturing, FMCG, or inventory-based industry experience will be highly regarded
