Join an established and successful industrial business in Melbournes western suburbs with a strong operational footprint and a practical, down-to-earth culture.With an experienced Finance Manager in place, the business is now looking to strengthen its finance function with a capable Financial Accountant who enjoys being close to the numbers and the broader operation.

Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, youll play a key role across financial accounting, reporting and analysis while supporting the continued improvement of finance processes.Your responsibilities will include:

• Month-end reporting, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Intercompany accounting and reconciliations
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
• Maintaining the fixed asset register
• Assisting with management reporting and financial analysis
• Supporting audit, statutory and compliance requirements
• Providing accurate financial information to operational stakeholders
• Identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processes

What you'll need to succeed
Youll be an experienced Financial Accountant who enjoys working in a hands-on, commercially focused environment.Ideally, youll bring:

• Strong financial accounting and month-end experience
• Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills
• Experience with budgeting and financial reporting
• Strong Excel skills and confidence learning accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
• The ability to communicate effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders
• CA/CPA qualification, or progress towards qualification, will be highly regarded

Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, distribution or another operational environment would be advantageous.
