Job Description

The Role

Join the team as a Field Technician supporting soil sampling and mapping operations across broadacre farms on the East Coast. Working with an innovative agribusiness leader, you'll be part of a practical, hands-on field team committed to delivering accurate data and supporting sustainable farming decisions. The work is physical, outdoors and varied - ideal for those who enjoy travel and working independently in rural environments.

Key Responsibilities

This role is focused on carrying out soil and data collection tasks safely, efficiently and in line with company standards. You will represent the business professionally while travelling between farm sites.

Key duties include:

  • Conducting field sampling and data collection activities following company protocols
  • Preparing and completing job packs, checklists and reporting procedures
  • Performing deep-core and shallow soil sampling, grid-based sampling, and EM38 and elevation mapping
  • Ensuring equipment is cleaned and maintained to meet biosecurity and safety requirements
  • Uploading and submitting data accurately using company systems
  • Maintaining a clean, safe vehicle and workspace at all times
  • Reporting equipment maintenance needs promptly
  • Travelling and working independently as required across various rural locations

Benefits

  • $40.00 per hour
  • 3-month contract with consistent, (60 hours per week)
  • $250/day allowance for meals and accommodation while on assignment

Your Skills & Experience

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • A current Australian driver's licence (able to tow a trailer)
  • Basic trailer towing experience
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Strong communication and reporting ability
  • A practical mindset and enthusiasm for working in the agricultural sector
