POSITION

We have a full-time position of Farm Supervisor in East Palmerston, 4860.

SKILLS

You must hold at least a Certificate IV or higher and at least 1 year of relevant work experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Farm Supervisor is responsible for supervising various cultivation measures across the banana plantation.

DUTIES

You will need to undertake the following tasks:

·Consultancy and planning with the farm managers to meet the business objectives.

·Supervise a wide range of farm operations as de-budding, de-leafing, de-suckering, dieseling, harvesting and packing.

·Ensures deadlines are met for cultivation measures.

·Communicate with managers to coordinate farm hands to assigned tasks and priorities.

·Monitoring hours, tasks performed and resolving any problems.

·Checking the work of farm hands and suggesting any improvements.

·Training farm hands to assigned tasks.

·Organises transportation of staff and produce on the farm.

·Inspecting banana irrigation, infrastructure, scheduling watering and sprinkler maintenance.

·Inspect farming equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out, and repairs are made when necessary.

·Ensure farm hands have appropriate tools and personal protective equipment for anticipated duties.

·Ensure and enforce compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards.

SALARY

The position will attract a salary between $70,000 and $80,000 per annum.
