RUREX is a specialist Australian explosives business operating its Explosives Test & Evaluation Centre in Byrock, NSW. The business supports Defence and commercial customers across testing, research, qualification, through-life support and disposal of energetic products. This is an opportunity to move beyond routine production blasting and build a broader technical career in explosives.
Your new role
Youll work hands-on across specialist explosives testing, trials and range operations.
- Prepare and execute explosive tests and trials
- Work with unfamiliar products and technical scenarios
- Identify risks, unknowns and practical solutions
- Coordinate with customers, OEMs and technical teams
- Maintain control of safe explosive operations
- Take ownership of work from planning through to execution
- Develop into broader technical and operational responsibility
This is not a traditional rostered shotfiring role. It suits someone who wants greater ownership and responsibility for the outcome.
What you'll need to succeed
Practical shotfiring, charge-up, drill & blast, explosives or EO experienceStrong explosives fundamentals and safety judgementCalm, practical decision-making when there isnt an obvious answerConfidence to question assumptions and challenge unsafe requestsCuriosity and willingness to learn unfamiliar products and processesA hands-on attitude and genuine ownership of your workYou do not need 20 years of experience. RUREX is open to developing professionals who demonstrate the right aptitude and judgement.
