About the client
Our client is a large general insurer offering Retail Motor Vehicle Insurance and Commercial Insurance throughout Australia.

About the role
The Enterprise Risk Lead will be responsible for enhancing and managing the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, providing trusted risk advice to stakeholders, delivering meaningful risk reporting, and maintaining the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system to support effective risk management across the organisation.

What's Required
The role is looking for a seasoned 2nd line risk professional who could take over the framework, and work collaboratively with a range of internal stakeholders to identify, assess, and address potential risks.
More specifically they will have the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Law, Risk Management or a related discipline.
  • At least 3+ years’ experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Assurance or Internal Audit
  • Advanced Microsoft suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Ability to analyse different data to identify trends and insights.
  • At least 3 years risk experience across the Financial Services Industry in entities that are APRA regulated.
  • Solid understanding of APRA Prudential Standards CPS220, CPS230, CPS234, Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) and the ISO international standards.
  • A good understanding of the General Insurance industry and other relevant laws and legislation that apply to the industry (highly desired)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a pro-active approach to problem-solving and attention to detail
  • The ability to prepare high quality written reports, policies, procedures, action plans, correspondence and documentation
  • Demonstrated capacity to act independently within established guidelines, using discretion and sound judgement
  • Experience working with systems and/or data, and the ability to quickly learn and understand how to work with new systems
