Can you build a door from start to finish? Looking for an experienced door builder in the eastern suburbs.
Your new company
Based in Bayswater, my client specialises in façades, windows, steel and cladding and is committed to quality craftsmanship and manufacturing. They are looking for an experienced Door Maker / Door Builder to join a well-established team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how a door is built from start to finish. You'll need to be comfortable reading plans and drawings, identifying the required components and hardware, and assembling doors accurately to specification.
Your new role
- Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications
- Building and assembling doors from individual components
- Measuring, marking out and preparing components for assembly
- Selecting, preparing and fitting door hardware
- Understanding how hinges, locks, handles, closers and other door hardware operate and how they fit together
- Producing quality finished doors to the required standard, checking that completed doors are correctly assembled, aligned and operating as intended
- Troubleshoot and rectify issues during a build
- Using hand and power tools confidently
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in door making, door building or door manufacturing
- The ability to confidently read plans and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of door components and door hardware
- An understanding of how different hardware works and how it needs to be installed
- Good measuring and problem-solving skills
- Confidence using hand and power tools
- Excellent attention to detail
- A reliable and punctual approach to work
