About the role
We are seeking an experienced female support worker to work with a male client with a physical disability in their own home in the Kelmscott area. You will have the opportunity to work with other clients as well. Casual contract to start, with the potential to go full time/part time in the future.
What you'll be doing
Assisting the client with everyday activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. This includes using transfer equipment to move the client to and from their wheelchair.
Providing companionship for the client and engaging in active conversation.
Assisting the client to engage in activities outside the home such as appointments, shopping, and social gatherings.
Administering and managing prescribed medication and monitoring the client's health.
Working as part of a team and communicating effectively with others.
Maintaining detailed records for every shift.
What we're looking for
Certificate III in Individual Support, or equivalent.
Proven experience in disability support or aged care. Experience in personal care.
Willing and able to do overnight shifts (both sleepover and active care), as well as other shifts.
Communication skills, with the ability to engage in conversation with clients.
Genuine compassion for others and a desire to improve the lives of vulnerable people.
Have or willing to obtain
Current Working With Children check or willing to apply
Current NDIS Worker Screening or willing to apply
Valid Australian driver's license
Covid 19 vaccination certificate
Medication Competency Certificate (within 3 years)
Infection Prevention and Control Certificate (within 12 months)
Manual Handling Certificate (within 3 years)
First Aid (within 3 years) and CPR (within 12 months)
