About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Disability Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will support clients with daily living activities, personal care, community access, and independence in line with their individual support plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting aged and disabled clients during daily routines and accompanying them to activities and appointments.
- Assisting clients with mobility, transfers, and movement both inside and outside the home.
- Preparing meals and assisting with basic food preparation according to clients’ needs.
- Organising and facilitating social and recreational activities to promote engagement and wellbeing.
- Performing household duties such as cleaning, vacuuming, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks including hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Providing companionship, emotional support, and building positive, trusting relationships with clients.
- Undertaking shopping, errands, and other support tasks as required.
- May provide live-in care arrangements depending on client needs.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 1 year previous experience in disability support, aged care, or community care preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Good documentation and time-management skills.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or equivalent preferred.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Working With Children Check, if required.
- Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle preferred.
