    ABOUT THE ROLE
    We have multiple positions for Disability Support Workers (DSW) across various locations in NSW. You will be working with adults and children with various disabilities, which may include physical, intellectual, cognitive, brain injury, and psychosocial disability.

    You will be assisting participants in accordance with their care plan, providing the best care for them to live a full and meaningful life. Shifts available include weekdays, evenings, active/non-active overnight shifts, and weekends.

    MAIN DUTIES
    Assist participants with important daily activities and personal hygiene
    Facilitate daily tasks including dressing, peg-feeding, bladder/bowel management, and seizure management
    Perform home-based tasks such as food preparation and housework
    Undertake tasks outside the home including shopping and appointments
    Provide transport including in wheelchair accessible vehicles
    Ensure varied programs of social activities and community participation
    Provide emotional support and companionship to a professional standard
    Incorporate Child Safe Standards when working with children and young people
    Implement personal hygiene and infection control procedures
    Monitor participants for changes in demeanour or signs of distress
    Record all work as per organisational requirements
    Communicate clearly, inclusively, and respectfully with participants and their support networks
    Report any real or potential risks of harm to a participant
    Uphold participant rights and support them to express views and raise concerns
    Never use a restrictive practice unless approved and trained

    REQUIREMENTS
    NDIS Worker Screening Check
    Senior First Aid & valid CPR Certificate
    National Police Check
    Working With Children Check (Paid)
    Valid driver's licence
    Reliable, fully registered & comprehensively insured vehicle
    Smartphone
    Australian work rights

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
    Minimum 6 months relevant experience
    Experience supporting people with disability
    Demonstrated continuing professional development
    Knowledge of continuous quality improvement
    Use of floor and ceiling hoists
    Promoted participant choice and independence
    Supported participants in hygiene practices

    SKILLS
    Strong verbal and written communication skills
    Ability to work with various ages, cultures, and ability levels
    Ability to build rapport and trust with clients
    Strong time management and ability to prioritise
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital record-keeping systems
    Excellent problem-solving and conflict-management skills
    Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships
