We are seeking an outstanding educational leader to join our Teaching and Learning team as Director of Teaching and Learning – Professional Practice (POR 3).
This position is offered as a four-year Position of Responsibility (POR 3) appointment in conjunction with a permanent teaching role at the College, providing an exciting opportunity to combine educational leadership with ongoing classroom practice
Reporting to the Assistant Principal – Teaching and Learning, this pivotal leadership position will drive the development, implementation and evaluation of professional practice across the College. The successful applicant will lead initiatives that strengthen teacher effectiveness through coaching, mentoring, professional learning and evidence-informed practice, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to improving teaching quality, supporting staff growth, and ensuring every student experiences high-quality teaching and learning.
You'll be able to:
- Lead the implementation and ongoing evaluation of the College's professional practice framework.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth and collective efficacy.
- Design, coordinate and facilitate professional learning aligned with College priorities and staff needs.
- Support teachers through coaching, mentoring, reflective practice and structured feedback.
- Work collaboratively with Learning Leaders to strengthen evidence-informed teaching practices across all learning areas.
- Support the implementation of annual teacher performance and development processes.
- Develop and monitor professional growth plans for staff requiring targeted support.
- Lead and promote pathways for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) certification.
- Build leadership capacity within Learning Leaders to effectively support teacher development.
- Use data and professional dialogue to drive improved classroom practice and student outcomes.
About You:
You are a highly effective and collaborative educational leader with a strong understanding of contemporary pedagogy, teacher development and evidence-informed practice.
You will demonstrate:
- A commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
- Experience leading professional learning, coaching and mentoring initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive professional relationships.
- The ability to analyse and use data to inform improvement strategies.
- A passion for developing the capability and confidence of teachers and leaders.
- Proven capacity to lead change and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
