About The Role
Our service team in Gladstone is now looking for an experienced Belt Splicer to join on a permanent full-time basis working on shutdowns, conveyor installation, and general belt repairs and maintenance around the Gladstone region.
This role reports to the Service Manager and its responsibilities include but not limited to,
- Belt splicing, repairs, maintenance and installations
- General conveyor maintenance i.e. identifying common belt damage/faults and determine method of repair,
- A strong commitment to safety and quality of work
Roster & Conditions:
- 5/2 roster, Monday-Friday, no underground work
- Minimum 40 hours week, permanent position
- Overtime opportunities built into shift
About you
We are looking for a team player who is self-driven and possesses the following skills and experience,
- Proven experience and knowledge of fabric, steel cord and solid woven splicing and installations
- Ability to identify common belt damage/faults and determine method of repair; general conveyor maintenance experience
- Experience operating mechanical conveyor belt handling equipment
- Mine site experience will be highly regarded
- Willingness to work outside of hours as required
- Certificate II or III in Polymer Processing, whilst not essential, would be advantageous
- Dogging or Rigging ticket (desirable)
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
- Current/valid Forklift ticket and Driver’s Licence (MR- preferred)
- Unlimited working rights in Australia
