We are seeking an experienced Project Controls / Cost Controller with a Quantity Surveying / commercial background to join our Major Projects team based in Belmont, WA.
This is a contractor-side role, working directly within project delivery teams where you will play a key role in cost management, commercial performance, and project controls across active construction projects.
You will work closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while actively contributing to commercial decision-making and project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Cost & Commercial Management

  • Act as the link between Projects and Procurement, ensuring purchasing aligns with budgets and scope
  • Review requisitions against CBS, budgets, and contract allowances
  • Track and manage commitments, variations, and project costs
  • Assist in preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and project financials
  • Monitor labour, plant, and quantities to assess actual vs forecast performance

Project Controls

  • Support monitoring of project performance against budget and deliverables
  • Identify cost risks, trends, and opportunities to improve project outcomes
  • Assist in the collection and reporting of key project data
  • Maintain and improve project control processes and systems

Commercial & Contracts

  • Interpret and apply contractual terms and conditions
  • Support management of variations, EOTs, and subcontractor claims
  • Work closely with Project Managers on commercial strategy and cost outcomes
  • Ensure subcontractor and supplier commitments align with contract requirements

About You

  • Background in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Project Controls within construction
  • Experience working on contractor-side projects (highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of cost management, forecasting, and project financials
  • Experience with variations, EOTs, and subcontractor management
  • Advanced skills in Excel and project systems
  • Experience with Procore or similar systems (advantageous)
  • Exposure to Transmission, Distribution, Substations, or Renewable Energy projects (advantageous)
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence project outcomes
  • Ability to work closely with site and project teams in a fast-paced environment
