Data Engineer

Role overview
Bluefin Resources is working with a clean energy organisation to hire a Data Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract, to rebuild enterprise data ingestion from scratch. You’ll work in a small team with one other engineer, focused on building new standards rather than maintaining existing ones.

Key responsibilities

• Build end-to-end Medallion pipelines (Bronze, Silver, Gold) in Snowflake
• Design and deliver CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and data-quality controls
• Connect pipelines to enterprise source systems via API, file, batch and CDC patterns
• Define and document data engineering standards for the team
• Use AI-assisted development tools within governance guardrails

Must-haves

• Hands-on experience building data pipelines and standards from scratch
• Strong Snowflake experience, including performance tuning and warehouse management
• Matillion or equivalent ETL/ELT experience
• CI/CD you’ve built yourself, using Git and automated pipelines
• Data modelling and data-quality frameworks

Nice to have: Terraform or Snowflake DCM; governed AI-assisted development.
Remuneration: $159K + super
Location: Sydney, 3 days per week in office
Term: 12 month fixed term, single project
