Your new role
As a Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for developing technical specifications relating to software, standards and maintenance requirements across a complex Defence capability. You will work closely with technical specialists, project teams and senior stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined, traceable and aligned with project objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing functional and performance specifications for software and maintenance systems
- Researching and applying engineering and technical standards across capability elements
- Producing high-quality technical documentation and engineering artefacts
- Supporting tender evaluations and vendor requirement reviews
- Maintaining systems engineering databases and project data integrity
- Engaging with Defence, industry and project stakeholders to support capability outcomes
- Presenting technical findings and recommendations to governance forums and senior stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:
- Active NV1 Security Clearance
- Experience in Systems Engineering, Requirements Development or Capability Development
- Strong technical writing and specification development skills
- Experience working with software systems, technical standards or maintenance frameworks
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
- Experience working within Defence acquisition or complex engineering projects
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience using systems engineering databases and tools
- Relevant engineering, technical or related tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded
