Your new company
Join a high-performing Defence capability team supporting the development of a major future platform and training capability. Working within a complex acquisition environment, you will contribute to the definition of software, engineering standards and maintenance requirements that will support the delivery of a nationally significant program.

Your new role
As a Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for developing technical specifications relating to software, standards and maintenance requirements across a complex Defence capability. You will work closely with technical specialists, project teams and senior stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined, traceable and aligned with project objectives.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing functional and performance specifications for software and maintenance systems
  • Researching and applying engineering and technical standards across capability elements
  • Producing high-quality technical documentation and engineering artefacts
  • Supporting tender evaluations and vendor requirement reviews
  • Maintaining systems engineering databases and project data integrity
  • Engaging with Defence, industry and project stakeholders to support capability outcomes
  • Presenting technical findings and recommendations to governance forums and senior stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:

  • Active NV1 Security Clearance
  • Experience in Systems Engineering, Requirements Development or Capability Development
  • Strong technical writing and specification development skills
  • Experience working with software systems, technical standards or maintenance frameworks
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Experience working within Defence acquisition or complex engineering projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience using systems engineering databases and tools
  • Relevant engineering, technical or related tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded
