About the role
 
This position is based in a large tertiary referral hospital in North Queensland, serving a catchment of approximately 700,000 people. As the region's principal referral centre, the hospital provides a broad range of specialist services and has strong links with James Cook University, supporting research, education, and clinical excellence.

The Mental Health Service delivers recovery-focused care to children and adolescents across inpatient and community settings, providing assessment, treatment, and ongoing management for a wide range of severe and complex mental health conditions.

As a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will provide specialist psychiatric care within a multidisciplinary team across the Acute Inpatient Unit and community services. The role offers a varied and rewarding caseload, with opportunities to contribute to clinical leadership, service development, teaching, research, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
