Job description
The Role
We are seeking a reliable Haul-Out Operator to join a potato harvesting operation in Atherton, QLD, within the agriculture and horticulture industry. This is a hands-on, outdoor role operating tractors and haul-out equipment to safely move harvested potatoes from paddocks to loading areas. You'll work closely with harvester and machinery operators in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, safety, and careful produce handling are essential.
Key Responsibilities
You'll support harvesting operations by safely transporting potatoes and keeping produce moving efficiently from the paddock.
- Operate tractors and haul-out equipment safely and efficiently
- Haul loaded potato bins, trailers, and produce from paddocks to loading areas
- Work closely with harvesters and other machinery operators
- Load and unload produce carefully to minimise product damage
- Operate safely across uneven terrain and changing paddock conditions
- Complete basic machinery checks and identify maintenance issues
- Follow farm WHS and machinery safety procedures
- Maintain strong awareness of people, vehicles, and equipment in work areas

Your Skills & Experience
To be successful, you'll be confident operating tractors and farm machinery and comfortable working in outdoor harvest conditions.
- Previous tractor and agricultural machinery operating experience
- Potato harvesting experience highly regarded
- Experience working around harvesters and haul-out equipment preferred
- Good understanding of safe machinery operation and uneven terrain
- Ability to complete basic machinery checks and identify faults
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Current tractor licence or relevant tickets where required
