Our ideal candidate will have experience leading teams within a leisure or aquatic centre environment and be committed to fostering a culture of safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.
The Aquatics Team Leader will be responsible for:
- Leading a team of Lifeguards and Duty Supervisors at our Aqualife facility.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant aquatic industry standards, legislation, policies and procedures, with a strong focus on health, safety and risk management.
- Coordinating aquatic operations to provide a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
- Managing aquatic rosters, staff development, and ensure appropriate coverage and operational efficiency.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of all aquatic staff.
- Monitoring pool plant operations and coordinating maintenance requirements in partnership with relevant contractors and facility teams.
- Assisting with the budget management, reporting and performance monitoring to achieve operational objectives.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Current Technical Operators Qualification and LIWA registration.
- Tertiary qualification in leisure, recreation (or related discipline), or proven experience in aquatic facility operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams in an aquatic or leisure facility environment.
- Strong understanding of aquatic industry guidelines, risk management principles and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a commitment to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
