Are you from a trade or building background and looking for a role that gets you out on site while utilising your technical knowledge?We are currently seeking a Condition Assessor to join a well-established government organisation based in Cairns responsible for managing and maintaining a large portfolio of buildings and facilities across Queensland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in construction, maintenance, facilities or asset management to contribute to the assessment and maintenance planning of a diverse property portfolio.
Your new role
Based from the Cairns office, you will be responsible for conducting detailed inspections of buildings and facilities, assessing asset condition and identifying maintenance requirements to support future planning and budgeting activities.Your duties will include:

• Conducting inspections of buildings, facilities and associated assets
• Assessing the condition of structures, fixtures and fittings
• Identifying defects, maintenance issues and potential safety risks
• Collecting photographic evidence and maintaining accurate inspection records
• Preparing detailed condition assessment reports
• Recommending repair, maintenance and replacement works
• Supporting asset management and maintenance planning activities

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Previous experience within building, construction, maintenance or facilities environments
• A trade qualification or trade background (highly regarded)
• Sound knowledge of building components and maintenance requirements
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills
• Excellent written communication and reporting abilities
• A current driver's licence
• The ability to work independently and manage site inspections across multiple locations
