About the role
As Hospital Medical Officer (HMO) you will provide medical assessment and clinical care to patients within the intensive care/critical care unit, medical, surgical and palliative care units as required. The Hospital Medical Officer (HMO) is responsible to the Consultant Specialist who is the principle treating practitioner of the patient and the HMO liaises closely with the relevant Clinical Managers and staff of each department.

You will also provide clinical supervision and support to interns as required and directed in conjunction with their allocated principal supervisors . You may provide clinical supervision and support to medical students as required and directed in conjunction with their clinical supervisors.

About you

  • MBBS or equivalent and currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Current professional medical indemnity to $20,000,000 – according to Calvary By-Laws
  • Post graduate clinical experience in intensive care/accident & emergency
  • Current proficiency in advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a multidisciplinary approach to assessment and management of the critically ill patient
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills both written and verbal
