A 6-month temp role in a state government department to start ASAP

A large and highly regarded infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Transformation Lead to join a major enterprise-wide transformation program on a 6month temporary contract, with the potential for extension. Based in Parramatta, this role offers a hybrid working model and the opportunity to drive significant change across finance, operations and technology functions.

Your new role
Reporting into the transformation leadership team, you will take ownership of a high-profile finance transformation initiative, partnering with senior stakeholders across finance, strategy, operations, asset management and technology. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the design and delivery of a large-scale finance transformation program.
• Redesigning finance operating models, governance frameworks and financial processes.
• Driving improvements in financial planning, cost allocation, reporting and decision support capabilities.
• Enhancing financial transparency and developing frameworks that support improved cost visibility and business performance.
• Partnering with finance, asset management and technology teams to improve data governance, system integration and operational efficiency.
• Leading stakeholder engagement, workshops, change management and adoption activities across the business.
• Supporting the implementation of enterprise finance systems and future-state processes.
• Managing risks, issues and dependencies while ensuring program objectives and benefits are achieved.
• Contributing to long-term business planning, governance and continuous improvement initiatives.

  This is a strategic and highly visible role that will influence the future direction of the organisation's finance function.

What you'll need to succeed

• Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation, ERP implementation or large-scale business transformation programs.
• Strong background in management accounting, finance operations, business partnering or financial planning and analysis.
• Experience redesigning finance operating models, governance frameworks and enterprise financial processes.
• Expertise in stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and change management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience working with enterprise finance platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, TM1 or similar systems.
• The ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across multiple business functions.
• Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business or Information Systems.

  Experience within infrastructure, utilities, government or other asset-intensive environments will be highly regarded.
