ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Grader Operator to join our team to support the Mitchell Freeway Concrete Barriers Upgrade. This will include the removal of existing barriers and replacement with new concrete barriers on the Mitchell Freeway between Ocean Reef Road and Hester Avenue. Work scope includes associated pavement works, services protection, and required significant rail safety management.

As the Grader Operator, you will be reporting to the Civil Supervisor, and you will be responsible for carrying out precision grading and earthworks to prepare road surfaces and work areas for the installation of concrete barriers.

Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Operate a grader for final trim, bulk earthworks, and road formation.
• Level, shape, and maintain road surfaces to specification.
• Cut, fill, and grade surfaces to the required levels and tolerances.
• Read construction drawings, survey pegs, and site set-out information.
• Prepare drainage, batters, and pavement foundations.
• Complete daily pre-start inspections and basic equipment checks.
• Work closely with supervisors and other operators to meet project deadlines.
• Follow all site safety, environmental, and operational procedures.

To be successful, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• RIIMPO324F – Conduct civil construction grader operations
• Final trim pavement construction experience
• Proficient with machine control
• Able to work from design drawings and site markers
• White Card
• HR Driver’s License
• Experience on Main Roads WA site (preferred)
• Rail Industry Worker Card (preferred)
• Supervised Worker Accreditation (preferred)
• MUST hold valid Australian Working Rights
• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
