Maintenance Labourer / Trade Assistant

About the Role
we are looking for Maintenance Labourer / Trade Assistant for our client who is a meat processing industry. This hands-on role is responsible for carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance to keep production equipment and facilities operating efficiently.
- Pay rate: $35 per hour (negotiable based on experience)
- Full-time, permanent | Ararat VIC
- 6:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Thursday | Regular overtime available
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance across plant and equipment.
- Repair and maintain machinery, including forklifts, tractors, trucks and production equipment.
- Complete general fabrication, welding, steelwork, repairs and construction using power tools.
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment while following all OH&S policies and PPE requirements.
- Carry out general site maintenance, including fencing, water leaks, drains and other maintenance tasks as required.
About You
- Experience in general maintenance, mechanical repairs or a similar hands-on role.
- Trade qualification preferred but not essential for candidates with strong practical experience.
- Forklift licence is advantageous.
- Able to perform physically demanding work, including manual handling and working in varying environmental conditions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, reliability and teamwork.
