About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Turf Maintenance Technician to join our team maintaining three high-profile sporting precincts: Tramway Oval, Kippax Lake and Heffron Park.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the presentation, performance and ongoing maintenance of high-performance sporting fields that support a range of community and competitive sporting activities. Working across these premier venues, you will play a key role in ensuring playing surfaces remain safe, visually outstanding and competition-ready throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine sports turf maintenance activities including mowing, aeration, fertilisation, topdressing, line marking, and irrigation management to maintain exceptional playing surfaces.
• Monitor turf health and proactively identify and address issues relating to pests, diseases, weeds, compaction, and wear through effective cultural and chemical management practices.
• Execute seasonal renovation, recovery, and improvement programs to ensure optimal turf performance across all sites.
• Implement sustainable turf management practices, including water conservation initiatives and integrated pest management strategies.
• Operate, maintain, and care for specialised turf equipment and machinery, ensuring safe and efficient operation at all times.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to plan maintenance schedules, prioritise workloads, and deliver consistently high standards across multiple venues.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and clients, providing expert advice and ensuring expectations are exceeded through exceptional service delivery.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement and presentation of high-performance sports fields, ensuring they are maintained to the highest industry standards.

About You

You have successfully completed a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management and possess recent experience in sports turf maintenance, turf management, greenkeeping or a similar environment.

You are passionate about producing elite-quality playing surfaces and take pride in delivering consistently high standards of turf presentation and performance.

You have a strong understanding of turfgrass species, growth habits, maintenance practices, irrigation systems and sports field preparation. You are confident operating and maintaining a range of turf machinery and equipment, including ride-on mowers, aerators, sprayers and other specialised turf maintenance equipment.

You hold a current driver's licence and White Card (or are willing to obtain one).
