Salary: $80,000 plus 12% superannuation

Our client, Mubi Enterprises Pty Ltd trading as Mobi's Mechanical & Body Repairs, is an automotive repair business based in Keysborough, Victoria, providing mechanical servicing, vehicle repairs, maintenance and associated automotive repair services to customers in Keysborough and surrounding areas.

The business provides automotive repair and maintenance solutions for a range of passenger vehicles and is committed to delivering reliable workmanship, accurate fault diagnosis and quality repairs.

Mobi's Mechanical & Body Repairs is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join its team. The successful applicant will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, repairing and maintaining a range of motor vehicles, identifying mechanical faults and completing repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications, safety requirements and established workshop practices.

Key Responsibilities

-Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment, scan tools and testing procedures.

-Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical faults, defects, wear and maintenance requirements.

-Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service requirements.

-Inspect, diagnose, service, repair and replace engine, cooling, driveline and transmission systems and associated mechanical components, including radiators, water pumps, thermostats, hoses and related parts.

-Inspect, service, diagnose and repair steering, suspension and braking systems, including shock absorbers, struts, control components, brake pads, discs, rotors, calipers and related components.

-Carry out repairs and replacements to clutch, timing belt and timing chain systems, as well as starting and charging systems and drive belts, including batteries, alternators, starter motors, tensioners and associated components, in accordance with vehicle specifications.

-Conduct engine performance testing and carry out diagnostic procedures to identify causes of vehicle performance issues.

-Inspect, service and repair vehicle air-conditioning systems where appropriately qualified and equipped.

-Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble mechanical assemblies and vehicle components.

-Examine repaired vehicles and conduct quality-control checks to ensure repairs have been completed correctly and vehicles are safe for operation.

-Install replacement automotive components, parts and accessories as required.

-Identify parts and materials required for repairs and communicate requirements to the appropriate workshop or management personnel.

-Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, repairs, parts used and other relevant vehicle service information.

-Explain identified vehicle faults and recommended repairs to management or relevant service personnel.

-Work cooperatively with other mechanics, technicians and workshop personnel to complete repair and servicing work efficiently.

-Follow manufacturer specifications, workshop procedures and applicable automotive repair standards when undertaking repair work.

-Comply with workplace health and safety requirements and ensure safe working practices are maintained throughout all workshop activities.

-Properly handle, store and dispose of used oils, automotive fluids, batteries, parts and other workshop materials in accordance with applicable requirements.

-Perform other mechanical repair, servicing and workshop duties reasonably incidental to the position.

Skills and Qualifications

-Certificate IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent relevant qualification.

-Minimum one year of relevant post-qualification experience as a Motor Mechanic.

-Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.

-Experience working with a range of vehicle makes and models.

-Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment, scan tools and testing instruments.

-Ability to interpret technical information, manufacturer specifications, repair manuals and diagnostic results.

-Ability to safely use automotive tools, workshop machinery and vehicle lifting equipment.
