Service Manager – Agricultural Machinery

Are you an experienced Service Manager, Foreman, Senior Technician or Service Advisor ready to take the next step with one of Australia’s leading John Deere dealerships?

Hutcheon & Pearce is looking for a Service Manager to join our Dubbo team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a skilled team, build strong customer relationships, and play a key role in the ongoing success of one of our largest regional branches.

This role offers the perfect balance of leadership, customer engagement, operational management and technical support. You’ll work closely with technicians, apprentices and customers while helping drive performance, profitability and an exceptional customer experience.

About the role

Reporting to the Brand Manager, you will lead and support the service team to ensure our customers receive the highest standard of technical support and service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of skilled technicians and apprentices
  • Partnering with the Foreman to coordinate workshop operations and maintain a productive, engaged team environment
  • Acting as a key point of contact for customers by providing service advice, managing expectations and building long-term relationships
  • Supporting service administration activities including job management, customer updates, work order reviews and warranty processes
  • Growing service labour sales while maintaining strong customer satisfaction outcomes
  • Monitoring key performance measures including workshop productivity, work-in-progress, labour recovery and customer experience
  • Driving a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Working collaboratively with Parts, Sales and Branch leadership to support the success of the entire dealership

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with genuine people leadership. You will ideally have:

  • Previous leadership experience within a workshop, service department or agricultural machinery environment
  • Qualifications in a mechanical trade or relevant industry experience
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to analyse performance and drive results
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and service management systems
  • Knowledge of John Deere or agricultural equipment is highly regarded

Agricultural machinery or dealership experience will be highly regarded, but we are also open to strong leaders from heavy diesel, mining, earthmoving or related industries.
